Mid-Prairie’s Bryce Henry put together one of the best individual seasons in Mid-Prairie basketball history and was rewarded with a Class 2A All-Substate 5 selection by the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association.
Henry led the Hawks and the River Valley Conference this year with 489 total points, his 21 points per game were ninth most in Class 2A. Henry hit 84 threes, second most in the state. His 37% clip from downtown was eighth in the RVC. His 187 total made shots led the conference. Henry’s 86% mark at the line was seventh in 2A. He grabbed 123 boards, dished out 44 assists and had 27 steals.
Henry’s season ranked him in the statistical top 10 in Mid-Prairie history for a single season in points per game, total points, consecutive made free throws and set a new school record for made threes. He was also a unanimous All-RVC selection.
Other All-Substate 5 selections included Mason Watkins and Quincy Collins of West Burlington, Brayden Hoben and Jameson Schamberg of Grandview Christian, Finn Cline of Louisa-Muscatine, Max Griffin of Mediapolis and Brayden Wyrick of Central Lee.
The Golden Hawks ended the season with an 18-5 overall record.
