Some southeast Iowa residents woke up in the dark Friday morning. According to information from Alliant Energy, the outage lasted one hour and 25 minutes and affected residents in the northwest part of Washington County including Kalona, Keota, Richmond, Riverside, Washington, Wellman, West Chester and surrounding rural areas. The cause of the outage was described as an animal interaction.
