Earlier in March, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office executed a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to make a complete stop at the intersection of North Pearl Street and Highway 78 in Wayland. According to the deputy, the driver of the vehicle, 36-year-old Anthony “Tony” Stransky of Wayland, showed signs of impairment from drugs or alcohol. Two female juveniles, 10- and 11-years old, were also present in the vehicle.
Following testing, Stransky was arrested for Operating While Under the Influence (OWI) second offense and child endangerment, both aggravated misdemeanors. Stransky was also cited for failure to obey a stop sign, no-valid driver’s license and open container violation. The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services was also notified.
