Those looking to update their homes or purchase a new property can find many resources and connections this weekend in Kalona. The annual Kalona Home Show is being presented by the Kaloan Chamber of Commerce this Friday and Saturday at the Kalona Community Center.

Executive Director of Kalona Chamber of Commerce Tonia Poole shares what people can expect, “Primarily if you are owning a home or looking to sell, we are going to have realtors there. There are people that are doing new construction. Your general handyman that might just need to fix a leaky faucet or something. Or if you want to really renovate or add on, we have all kinds of people for that. If you are even renting a place, in the past we’ve had folks who like interior designs. If you just want to coordinate and get a better visual of how to use the space that you are in and don’t need to do a big project, you can still connect with someone in that way.”

A variety of businesses are taking part in the event with 35 different exhibitors on site. Exhibitors range from construction companies to banks, from excavators to designers.

Admission is free. The event kicks off Friday at 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., and continues from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
