
Prices rose 5 cents for regular unleaded gasoline across Iowa over the last week to an average of $3.03, according to AAA. Overall the national average also rose 5 cents, up to $3.15. Iowa’s retail diesel prices held steady with a statewide average of $3.33, 28 cents lower than the national average of $3.61. The diesel prices in Iowa a year ago averaged $3.78. In addition, wholesale ethanol held steady at $2.16.
According to the AAA report, the price of global crude oil rose by nearly $3 to $69.83 on the West Texas Intermediate. Brent crude oil also saw a rise by $3.27 to a current price of $73.84. A year ago, WTI crude sold at $82.41 and Brent crude was $85.91.
