
The State of Iowa’s unemployment rate held steady from January to February at 3.3 percent according to Iowa Workforce Development. Washington County saw a slight decrease from 3.6 percent in January to 3.5 percent in February. In February of 2024 Washington County’s unemployment rate was 3.0%.
The county with the highest unemployment rate this February was Marshall County at 7.9 percent, while the lowest was 2.3 percent in Osceola County.
When looking at February 2024 in comparison to February of 2025 in Iowa, only three counties showed a decrease in unemployment rates and three others had no change. In total, 93 Iowa counties had an increase in unemployment rates when comparing last February to this February.
