You’re invited to Lake Darling State Park this weekend for a special meet and greet event with the Friends of Lake Darling. Sunday, From 1-3 p.m. at the park lodge, members and the public are invited to enjoy chili, veggies, dessert and a drink. The afternoon also includes a presentation to honor Drs. Fay Vittetoe and Mary Anson for their dedicated services. This week, Lake Darling State Park Ranger Zach Haworth talked with KCII News about the work the Friends group does at the park, “We work very closely with the Friends of Lake Darling, they’re the non-profit group that supports the park and they’ve really made this park extraordinary. We’re working with the friends group to finish up a solar project that they’ve been working on to put solar panels on top of the lodge. We hope to see that to completion this year.”
