
Three KCII area girls track teams traveled to Mediapolis Thursday for the Bullette Invitational.
The WACO Warriors had the top area team finish, placing as runners-up with 74 points. Fort Madison won the title with 94. The Warriors had three event championships on the night, two of them from Carlee Lunsford who won the 400 in 1:03.81 and the 800 in 2:30.85. Brenna Graber beat the field in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:10.95. Other top WACO performances included Graber second in the high jump and 100 hurdles, Josie Dykstra runner-up in the 400 hurdles, third place each for the 4×100 and 4×400 and fourth for the distance medley.
The Hillcrest Academy Ravens were fifth of 15 schools with 44 points. Siena Stanerson was the 3000m champion with a time of 11:37.40. Other top performances for Hillcrest included second for Rya Scott in each of the long jump, 100m and 200m, fourth for Delaney Shaw in long jump and fifth for Niva Helmuth in high jump. In relay events the distance medley of Stavia Miller, Natalie Meganathan, Shaw and Marie Yoder were fifth as was the 4×100 team of Morgyn Nafziger, Miller, Shaw and Scott.
The Highland girls were 11th with 27 points. Top Huskies included Alexa Hahn third in long jump with Maiya Singbeil third in the 400 hurdles and fifth in the 100 hurdles.
The Ravens and Huskies are next in action, back at MEPO Tuesday while WACO hosts their own meet Tuesday.
