The Iowa legislature hit a significant milestone on the calendar this week with the second legislative funnel.Friday was the end of the 12th week of the 2025 legislative session. With that, it was the final date for Senate bills and joint resolutions to be reported out of House committees. It was also the deadline for House bills and joint resolutions to be out of Senate committees.
Moving into next week, the Senate considers only House bills, House joint resolutions, and unfinished business. On the House side of business, the Representatives will only consider Senate bills, Senate joint resolutions, and unfinished business.
May 2nd will mark the 110th calendar day of the session and the per diem expenses for the state legislators will end, per Iowa code.
