The only thing better than tacos on Tuesdays are when someone makes tacos for you on Tuesday. Enjoy that and more on April 8th as the Washington School’s Future Farmers of America (FFA) Chapter hosts their second annual Taco Tuesday fundraiser. You’re invited to Dallmeyer Hall on the Washington County Fairgrounds from 5-7 p.m. as FFA students serve tacos, sides and desserts for a free will donation. Recently, KCII news talked with Washington FFA officers seniors Jade Sheetz and Lauren Lukavsky, and junior Isabelle Peterson about preparing for the event, what they’re looking forward to, and what the proceeds will be used for, “We’re trying to figure out how much food we need and start getting that ready. Get signs made. Getting the plants in the greenhouse ready to go. There’s lots of different steps that we need to take. Luckily, since we did it last year, it’s a lot easier to plan this year than it was the last time. It’s a lot of working together and you have to communicate really well with your team to make sure everything is getting set up, and we all knew what was going on. It’s all FFA members that are putting it together behind the scenes. There will be some plants for sale at the Taco Tuesday event. It’s a free will donation. Our suggested donation is $5 per plate. We use the proceeds when we go to Districts and Sub-Districts and State to pay for our expenses at those things. This helps pay for activities throughout the year, it helps kids get to those different conferences and helps us fund our program for the next year moving forward.”
