One person was injured in a two-vehicle wreck Sunday afternoon on Highway 218 near Riverside. According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, at 4:34 p.m. a Chevrolet Silverado rear ended another Chevrolet Silverado in the southbound lanes of Highway 218 near 160th Street. One passenger was injured and taken by ambulance to the University of Iowa Hospital. 

The two drivers involved were Gannin Keith Johnson of Mediapolis and Daniela Diaz-Castillo of Washington. Johnson was cited for failure to stop at an assured and clear distance. 

Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene.
