
The Sigourney Savages defeated the Keota Eagles in a girls’ golf dual Tuesday at Lagos Acres Golf Course in Keota, posting a combined team score of 218 strokes that was 34 less than the hosting Eagles.
Sigourney was led by a 16-over-par round of 50 from sophomore Adelynne Tremmel, but the meet medalist round came from Keota junior Lainey Swanson, who was one stroke better.
The Savages also got a 55 from junior Kayla Renner, as well as a 56 from senior Hannah Hanselman and a 57 from freshman Ella Bruns, while sophomore Emily Conger shot a 54 for the Eagles.
Both teams compete again later today, with Sigourney heading to Belle Plaine for a dual and Keota traveling to Marengo for a triangular with Iowa Valley and North Mahaska.
