
The Highland Huskies and WACO Warriors each picked up team victories while taking part in a conference golf dual against each other Monday at Twin Lakes Golf Course in Winfield.
The Highland girls compiled a team score of 196 strokes that was over 100 less than WACO. Adisyn Prottsman led the Huskies by shooting the medalist round of 43, while fellow junior Emersyn Schultz was second overall with a 49 and freshmen Joslyn Prottsman and Autumn Guseman each had 52.
Senior Adeline Krotz added a 55 for Highland, while junior Gracie Cardenas had WACO’s best round with a 71. The Warriors boys got the win with a team score of 218 that was 34 strokes better than the Huskies.
Freshman Ian Maize had the medalist round of 48 for WACO, while teammate Kellen Shelman had a 56 and fellow junior Carsten Wilson and sophomore Malachi Rinner each added a 57. Sophomores Isaac Giesmann and Tyson Grout paced Highland by shooting rounds of 58 and 59, respectively.
