Airbags deployed in two vehicles in a collision in Washington on Tuesday morning. According to Washington County Communications, at 11:13 a.m., two vehicles collided at the intersection of South 4th Avenue and East Washington Street. People in both vehicles were described as conscious but groggy.

The two drivers were Antonio Lopez of Kalona and Courtney Christner of Washington. Christner was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. Damages were over $1,500 and both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Two people were taken by ambulance to the Washington County Hospital.

Washington Police, Washington Fire Department, Washington Rescue, Washington EMS, Washington County Sheriff’s personnel, and Washington County Ambulance responded to the scene.
