Three local schools put on a show Thursday at the Tipton Tiger Relays.

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls were team champions with their score of 180 points, doubling up second place Clinton’s 95. It was crazy eights for the Hawks, with eight event titles. The Golden Hawks brought a 1-2 punch in three different events, twice from the same duo, with Rachel Hostetler winning the 1500 and 3000, in 4:58.22 and 10:54.49 respectively and Brooklyn Stutzman second in both events. In the discus, Dessa Poll was the winner at 120’9”, followed by Harper Pacha as runner-up. Jeorgia Evans was twice an individual champ, winning the 100 in 12.72 seconds and the 200 in 26.64 seconds. Pacha won shot put with a throw of 35’8”. The Mid-Prairie 4×1 team of Jeorgia and Jovi Evans, Tessa Bombei and Myli Hershberger were champs in 51.06 seconds, and the distance medley with Hershberger, Sophie Miller, Ruby Miller and Kendal Landstrum won gold in 4:26.62. Other top performances for the Golden Hawks included runner-up for Sophie Miller in the 100 hurdles, Landstrum in the 800, Bombei in high jump, and shuttle hurdle with Sophie and Ruby Miller, Olivia Schlabach and Bombei. In third were Jovi Evans in the 100, Ruby Miller in the 400 hurdles, and Jeorgia Evans in long jump.

The Washington Demon girls were fifth of 11 teams with 71 points. Top Demon finishes came from relays with a runner-up each for the sprint medley of Leighton Salazar, Rachel Sands, Eden Levetzow and Lauren Drahota, as well as the 4×8 with Kendall Hinrichsen, Emma and Lauren Horak and Iris Dahl. Other headline performances included third each for Leighton Messinger in the 100 hurdles, Taylor Miksch in discus, and the distance med with Salazar, Levetzow, Drahota and Hinrichsen. In fourth were Sands in the 200 and the 4×400 of Jaslyn Villa, Levetzow, Miksch and Layla Green. It was fifth place each for Villa in the 400 and long jump, Emma Horak in the 800, and Alyvia Anderson in the 3000.

The Mid-Prairie boys won the team title with 106 points, edging out Durant’s 100. The Golden Hawks had eight event winners including Jayden Stafford sweeping the wheelchair 100, 200, 400 and 800s in 20.19 seconds, 35.59 seconds, 1:06.54 and 2:28.89 respectively. Ryan Henry was the fastest man on the track winning the 100m dash in 11.82 seconds. Burke Berry was the strongest man at the meet, winning discus at 142’7” and shot put with 52’11.25”. Josh Turner flew the highest, clearing 6’1” to win high jump. Other top performances for the Golden Hawks included second for Tommy Miller in discus, Thomas Lueck in long jump, the sprint med of Lueck, Keegan Bauwens, Kendrick Kos and Carson Humphrey, the 4×1 with Kaden and Kendrick Kos, Nolan Jergens and Humphrey, and the 4×4 with Cash Brown, Kendrick Kos, Jergens and Henry. Humphrey was third in the 110 hurdles.

The Sigourney Savages were third with 97 points. Troy Klett was a two-time winner, taking the mile in 4:52.49 and the two-mile in 10:38.64. Other top Sigourney events included runner-up for Caden Clarahan in the 110 hurdles and Klett in the 400. Carson Davis was third in high jump, as was the shuttle hurdle of Chase Clarahan, Dillon Menke, Owen Menke and Caden Clarahan, the 4×200 of Davis, Chase Clarahan, Landon Fisch and Carson O’Rourke, and the distance medley with O’Rourke, Fisch, Wyatt Wehr and John Berg.
