It was a road trip Tuesday for the Hillcrest Academy Raven track and field teams when they traveled to Central City. The Hillcrest girls placed second of seven teams with 124 points, Maquoketa Valley won the title with 137. The Ravens took five event titles on the night. Rya Scott went triple gold, winning the 100 in 13.19 seconds, the 200 in 27.47 seconds and the long jump at 16’4”. Hillcrest went 1-2 in two events. Along with Scott’s 100 win, Morgyn Nafziger was second. In the 3000 Marie Yoder got the win in 12:06.85 and Siena Stanerson was second. Stanerson would get her own championship later, taking the 1500 in 5:33.44. Other top performances included a second for Niva Helmuth in shot put and runner-up for the 4×100 team of Nafziger, Stavia Miller, Helmuth and Scott. Karina Bourha was third in the 400, Yoder was third in the 800, Helmuth was third in high jump, the sprint medley of Nafziger, Natalie Meganathan, Bourha and Delaney Shaw, the 4×200 of Miller, Helmuth, Nafziger and Shaw and the 4×4 of Bourha, Shaw, Stanerson and Yoder were also third. Miller in the 200 and Shaw in long jump were both fifth.

The Raven boys finished in eighth place with 35 points. Hillcrest won two event championships as Owen Scott won long jump going 22’6.25” and Kale Bailey cleared six foot on high jump. Other top performances included third for the 4×100 team of Gibson Scott, Kayden Estell, Kale Bailey and Owen Scott, fourth for Owen Scott in the 100, and fourth for Gibson Scott in the 110 hurdles.
