People marched with signs on sidewalks around Washington’s downtown on Saturday as part of a “Hands Off” protest. The demonstrators lapped the square midday Saturday in what was described as a “peaceful protest against current events.”
Initially the protest had been approved on a 3-2 vote by the Washington City Council to be held in Central Park, pending having event insurance. The two voting nay were Fran Stigers and Pat Morgan. The insurance was not secured and the event moved from the park.
Approximately 60 people, young and old, marched with handmade signs about tyranny, empathy, democracy, and more.
