It’s home sweet home Thursday for the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls track team. The Golden Hawk girls host their only meet of the year, the Golden Hawk Relays tonight at Dwight G. Sattler Field in Wellman. The Hawks last competed a week ago in Tipton where they won the team title by 85 points with eight event championships. Mid-prairie went 1-2 in the 1500 and 3000 with Rachel Hostetler and Brooklyn Stutzman, and Dessa Poll and Harper Pacha in discus. Pacha won shot put. Jeorgia Evans went double gold in the 100 and 200. The Golden Hawk 4×1 with Jeorgia and Jovi Evans, Tessa Bombei and Myli Hershberger were winners, as was the distance medley with Hershberger, Sophie Miller, Ruby Miller and Kendall Landstrum.
Joining the Hawks in Wellman tonight are Alburnett, Fairfield, HLV, Pekin, West Branch, West Liberty and Williamsburg. Tonight’s event also serves as Senior Night for the Golden Hawks, where they will honor Dakota Mitchell, Dessa Poll and Ivy Reschly. Action starts tonight at 4:15p.m. And continues into the evening at Dwight G. Sattler Field in Wellman.
