The Sigourney Savage girls’ track and field team put together a strong showing at the Eddy Relays Tuesday in Eddyville. Sigourney finished fourth in team scoring in the Class A division and fifth overall with 95 points.

The Savages were led by an individual victory for Ellie Yates, who had the top time in the 3,000-meter run of 11 minutes 21 seconds. Fellow junior Addison Yates was second in that race and the 1,500 meters, as was freshman Brynn Clarahan in the 400-meter hurdles.

Senior Josephine Moore would finish third in the shot put toss for Sigourney, as would sophomore Kia Montgomery in the long jump, while the Savages also took third in the 4-by-200 and 4-by-400.

The Keota Eagle boys would compete Thursday at the Bear Trax Classic at BGM High School in Brooklyn. Sophomore Ayden Galindo led Keota with a second-place finish in the high jump, while the Eagles were also runners-up in the distance medley relay.
