Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius was installed as President of the National Association of County Engineers (NACE) at their recent annual conference.

Thorius, who has been Washington County Engineer since 2012, has previously served on the Executive Board and safety committee of NACE’s state affiliate in Iowa, the Iowa County Engineers Association.

NACE is a nonprofit, nonpartisan professional association which represents county road officials through the U.S. and Canada by developing relationships with federal officials, guiding policy, formulating talking points and creating best-practice policies for local engineering departments.

Thorius’ term will run through April 2026.
