Rainfall over the past week, including some recent thunderstorms, helped to improve drought conditions in the KCII listening area.

Washington County is once again drought-free this week after being 22% abnormally dry a week ago. Henry County remained drought-free for the 12th consecutive week.

Jefferson County fell from 73% abnormally dry to 22%, while Keokuk fell from 100% to 45%.

Iowa County experienced its first week since early October without any area in moderate drought conditions, while the percentage of the county experiencing no drought rose from 3% to 71%.

Louisa County was the only county in the KCII listening area to see an increase in drought-affected area, albeit a small one, increasing from 0.06% abnormally dry to 0.93%
