A rural Louisa County facility is requesting a modification on a building permit for a potential source of air pollution.

MidAmerican Energy Company – Louisa Station, located at 8602 172nd St., Muscatine,  is requesting to add an additional approved mercury control additive, according to a press release by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

The station’s request is currently in a public comment period, which will remain open until May 25.
