The Mid-Prairie Special Olympics team recently competed at Coe College, with several athletes earning trips to the state competition in May.

Dalton Hesseltine and Lois Hochstetler each took first in the 100 meter walk and the softball throw in their divisions. Tate Jeffries won the 400 meter race walk and javelin throw. Anthony McGaffy took third in the 100 meter dash and won the javelin. John Miller placed first in the 25 meter walk and second in the softball throw. Mason Sieren won the 2k race walk and took second in the javelin. Landon Sparks won the 25 meter walk and tennis ball throw.

Those who won their events advanced to the state competition, which will be held in Ames on May 23 and 24.
