Hillcrest Academy junior Owen Scott beat more than half of a talented field in the long jump at last week’s Drake Relays in Des Moines, Scott flew 21’1.50” to claim 11th place in the field of 24 at Drake Stadium. Micah LeLaCheur of Des Moines Valley was the winner at 22’10.25”. Scott’s season best 22’6.50 mark in the event earlier this year, ranks him No. 1 in Class 1A.
