
Several projects in the KCII listening area received grant funding through the Choose Iowa Value-Added Grant program, which is designed to help Iowa farmers and small businesses promote Iowa grown, raised and made food, beverage and agricultural products.
East to West Farm in Columbus Junction received $10,468 to construct storage and on-farm retail space to expand meat and egg sales.
Mogo Farms in Mt. Pleasant received $25,000 to construct a new wash and packaging building to extend the freshness of produce and enhance food safety practices.
Wild Spirits Farm in Fairfield received $13,400 to transform a cabin into a welcoming, community-centered agricultural hub.
Across the state, 33 projects received $463,000 from this year’s grants. The total project costs amounted to over $1.3 million.
