The unemployment rate for the State of Iowa fell slightly from the month of April at 4.7-percent to 4.6-percent in the month of May according to the Iowa Workforce Development. In Washington County, the rate fell from 3.4-percent to 3.3-percent. Other area counties that saw slight unemployment decreases include Iowa, Jefferson and Keokuk counties. Henry County remained at 5.2-percent and Louisa County stayed steady at 4.3-percent. Johnson County increased from 3-percent to 3.1-percent, a change of 200 unemployed. These figures are not seasonally adjusted.
