One of the Republican candidates seeking the nomination for U.S. Senate visited Washington this week. State Senator Joni Ernst met with area voters Wednesday at J.P.’s 207. She stated that she is running because she wants a strong economy for her children and grandchildren. Also, her experience in the military and her conservative views are other reasons she is seeking the nomination. She believes that her leadership experience in the military and the Iowa legislature has given her the skills needed for the U.S. Senate seat.
