A fatal car wreck occurred in Jefferson County over the weekend. According to the Iowa State Patrol, at 6:05 a.m. Saturday, a Kia Spectra driven by 53-year-old Jodi Kay Hargrove of Fairfield was traveling southbound partially in the northbound lane of Osage Avenue and collided with a vehicle traveling northbound. The second vehicle was a Buick driven by 34-year-old Amber Rose Lunsford of Stockport. Hargrove was transported by Jefferson County Ambulance to the Jefferson County Health Center and died as a result of the accident. Lunsford was injured in the collision and transported by ambulance to the Jefferson County Health Center.

The accident is currently under investigation. Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Fairfield Fire Department and first responders assisted at the scene.
