Replicas of the Bunker Mill Bridge’s original nameplate will be poured at a local foundry this afternoon. Managing Director of Friends of Bunker Mill Bridge Suzanne Micheau says the replicas are being based on one of the original nameplates currently in the Kalona Historical Village’s collection. It bears the name of the outfit that built the bridge in the late 1800s, King Iron Bridge Company. The forty pound nameplates Max-Cast of Kalona is making today will be attached to both of the bridge’s entrances after the restoration.
