The Washington County Engineer’s Office does pretty good work according to the Iowa Concrete and Paving Association. They’ve been given a “Best Concrete Overlay” award by the statewide organization. Interim County Engineer Jacob Thorius feels that the designation says a lot about the area’s contractors and the working relationship they have with his office. This is the second such award the Washington County Engineer’s Office has received. Last year they were recognized for work on Old 218. This year’s award was for the overlay of Vine Avenue.
