The Washington Demon girls basketball team’s season came to an end last night in the Regional Final round. The Demons lost to fourth ranked Davenport Assumption 69-43, Assumption controlled the game the entire way with strong inside play from 6–3 Alyson Spinas-Valainis and outside shooting. Assumption was up 36-18 at halftime and cruised to the 69-43 win. Spinas-Valainis ended up with 19 points, Melissa Youngblut averaged 4.1 points per game heading in, had 20 points and hit four threes, and Sam Thrapp had 14 points. The Demons end up 18-5 on the season while Assumption improves 22-2 and will face Ballard who beat Pella last night 51-25.
