Two of Mid Praire’s three state qualifying wrestlers are returning from the 2015 State Wrestling tournament in Des Moines with medals around their necks. Golden Hawk wrestlers Ducan McCain (113) and Levi Duwa (195) both found their way to the podium at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines on Saturday.

McCain suffered an injury in his consolation seminal match and ended finishing the tournament in sixth place by injury forfeit. McCain finishes his sophomore season with an overall record of 48-6.

Duwa is Class 2A’s eighth best wrestler in the 195 pound weight class. He was defeated by pinfall by West Liberty’s Bryce Esmoil in the seventh place match. Duwa finishes his wrestling season with a 39-8 overall record.

Sophomore Cameron Toelander (182) also competed in the state tournament this past weekend, being eliminated on the competition’s first day.
