Preliminary drawings are now in for the new Washington County Public Health Building. Director of the department, Danielle Pettit-Majewski explained at this week’s board of health meeting that she is pleased with the footprint of the building and believes it will improve efficiency.
The county has earmarked $365,000 for the building that will be constructed on county land on Lexington Boulevard, near Orchard Hill and the sheriff’s office. Also, the county is seeking a $750,000 grant from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation for the project.
The Riverboat Foundation received 98 grant applications. Grants will be awarded May 6th at the Riverside Casino.
