The City of Washington is transitioning its water treatment from electrodialysis reversal to reverse osmosis. City Administrator Brent Hinson explained at this week’s city council meeting that a pilot study must be done per Department of Natural Resources guidelines. The pilot study will be conducted by Harn R/O Systems, Inc., for an estimated $29,550.
Harn will bring in a 20,000 gallon per day reverse osmosis unit to run for a four-month period. The information from the pilot study will then be used by FOX Engineering to select the design of the reverse osmosis system upgrades.
