The Washington Demon football team rolled over the Marion Indians Friday night in the 2015 home opener at Case Field by a 42-12 final score.

In a game heard on AM and FM KCII, the Demons opened the game by driving the first possession down the field to paydirt when Ryan Reighard scored from four yards out to give Washington the early 7-0 lead. The Washington offense struggled the remainder of the first half with ball control, fumbling four times. Washington was able to recover three of their own fumbles to limit the damage and take their seven point lead into the halftime break.

In the second half the Demons tightened up their ball handling and the offense got rolling behind running back Jack Giardino, who posted four second half touchdowns. The Demon defense was dominant throughout the game, slowing down Marion all night.

For the game, Giardino led Washington on the ground with 228 yards on 15 carries and his four touchdowns. Reighard had 82 yards on the ground on 18 carries and was six of 11 through the air for 100 yards. Javion Willis was his favorite target, grabbing five passes for 54 yards.

With the win Washington is now 1-1 on the year, they will next be in action Friday to open up district play against Clear Creek Amana.
