The contracts for Washington County law enforcement with each city in the county, except Washington, were officially approved at this week’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting. The previous week the supervisors approved the measure, but this week they had to approve each individual contract. Chief Deputy Jared Schnieder explained the formulas reflect the communications formula and changed slightly this year by using the number of calls over the last five years, instead of just the preceding year. The cost for city is based on a formula using the number of calls in the last five years, population and assessed value.
