Speech Contest season continues today as area students will compete in the District Individual Speech contest. Mid-Prairie has 15 students, Keota High School has six and Washington High School will have four students competing at Fairfield High School. Mid-Prairie Speech Coach Mac Hopper says the group looks to build on a strong showing in the large group season which included an All-State selection for the one-act play.

Washington and Keota also found success in the large group season. Washington High School’s musical theatre group earned an All-State Selection for their performance of “Finding Neverland.” Keota High School had two groups earn All-State awards, the ensemble acting and readers theatre.
