Department of Health and Human Services, most of Washington County has one primary service provider for every 1,217 people. However, the northeast corner of the county is one provider for every 2,198 people. Johnson County is the lowest in the state with one primary care provider for every 503 people. The highest ratio is in a secrtion of Dallas County, west of Des Moines, where it is one for every 7,702 people.
