The season debut for both the Washington Demon girls and boys golf teams is scheduled for today.

The Washington Demon girls’ golf team will begin their state championship defense in Keokuk this morning, taking part in an five-team tournament to open the season. The Demons are returning four players from last season’s Class 4A state championship squad, including seniors Denna Peiffer and Brenna Burlingame and sophomores Sarah Nacos and Megan Strabala. Tee time is set for 10:30 a.m. at the Elks Fairview Golf Course in Keokuk.

The Demon boys’ golf opens their season in Southeast Conference dual against the Mount Pleasant Panthers. The Demons have five golfers returning with varsity experience, including senior Derek Anding, juniors Mason Rich, Noah Enfield, and Tanner Coleman, and sophomore Dalton Myers. Tee time is set for 4 p.m. at the Mount Pleasant Golf and Country Club.
