Over $61,000 has been raised in Washington to help fight cancer through Relay for Life. The annual event was held in Washington last Saturday and organizer Deb Tisor tells KCII News the event went well with a pillow fight and water balloon toss. She shares the theme was “Cancer does not sleep, nor do we” and they had a slumber party. She adds more money is coming in for the effort and people have until August 10th to donate to the 2016 Washington Relay for Life event.

In addition, a blood drive was held Saturday morning before Relay for Life began and 17 individuals gave blood. The donations will help over 60 cancer patients.
