The top seed Highland Huskie baseball team pounded Holy Trinity to open districts Tuesday night in Riverside by a 12-2 score in six innings.

Highland scored six times in their first at bat to open an early lead. Holy Trinity countered with single runs in the second and third innings to get back within 6-2. Highland came back with six unanswered runs over the next three innings to finish the contest early. Josh Michel got the win for Highland, he went six innings, allowed four hits, two runs, walked four and struck out five. At the plate Bill Burton, Trent Lasek, Logan Harbison, and Jake Wood were all two for three. Chase Rath homered. With the win Highland improves to 21-6 on the year and will next be in action Thursday when they host Lone Tree, who was a 5-3 winner over Winfield-Mt. Union in round one.
