Two people were transported to the University of Iowa hospital by helicopter following a two-vehicle crash in Henry County Wednesday. According to the Iowa State Patrol, at 6:39 p.m. a Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by 18-year-old Dallas Cheney of Houghton and a Kia Sorento driven by 20-year-old Dalton Elliott of LaHarpe, Illinois, collided near New London. Cheney’s vehicle was southbound on 260th Street, crossing Highway 34, and failed to yield to the right of way from the median, pulling out into the path of the eastbound Kia Sorento. The impact to the driver’s side of the Elliott vehicle caused it to rotate counter clockwise and roll into the median.
Elliott and David Maynard of Blandinville, Illinois, were both transported by helicopter. Also, 27-year-old Justin Marshall of Niota, Illinois, was transported by ambulance to the Henry County Health Center.
