The Iowa Mennonite School recently purchased a new shuttle bus that will transport students to and from Iowa City. Director of Advancement Jeremy Ours said the need arose from an influx of students now enrolled from the Iowa City area. There are presently 11 students from Iowa City attending IMS, which is an increase over previous years. To accommodate them, the school purchased the new shuttle bus with money that was donated.
Ours sees the number of students from Iowa City as positive development. He believes moving forward it will be increasingly important to make IMS accessible for students outside the immediate area. Getting commuter students from the north in Iowa City, and the south in Washington is something he and the school are working toward. There are currently 89 students enrolled in the school, the same amount as last year, including three that commute via shuttle from Washington.
