Sixty-eight tractors will be making their way from Oskaloosa to the City of Washington on Wednesday. The tractors are part of the annual Greater Southeast Iowa Tractor Ride. Steve Scholtus is organizing the event and says numbers have dwindled over the years, when they started they had about 150 tractors take part. He adds this is the 15th annual fall tractor ride and stayed the night in Washington five years ago. He says one of the highlights of the event is good food and finding hole-in-the-wall restaurants. There will be a variety of tractors on the ride, including many that over 30 years old.
Scholtus is taking one that is 65 years old. Hear the full interview with Scholtus on today’s Washington Page.
