The Clear Creek Amana football team will look to finish an undefeated non-district season tonight when they host the Independence Mustangs in Tiffin.

The Clippers used a big night from Iowa Mennonite’s Drake Brezina to secure a 23-8 week one win over Mount Pleasant. Brezina was a workhorse for the Clippers, rushing 21 times for 199 yards and two touchdowns. He also led the team on the defensive side of the ball with five tackles, two for loss and a sack.

Independence was beaten by West Deleware, Manchester 48-0 last week. The Mustangs were held to just 134 total yards in the game, while giving up 538, including 251 through the air. The Mustangs were 8-2 in 2015 but graduated a talented senior class of 15 including starting quarterback and lead rusher Nick Holt, who finished last season with 3,000 all-purpose yards.

These two teams met last in 2013 with the Clippers winning a wild 44-43 shoot out. Action begins at 7:30 in Tiffin.
