Still in search of their first victory of the season, the Washington Demon volleyball team (0-10 overall; 0-3 Southeast) returns to Southeast Conference match play tonight. The Demons welcome the Fairfield Trojans (8-2 overall; 2-1 Southeast) to Washington High School.

Washington hasn’t fared well in conference action, winning one of their 13 sets played. Senior Liv Postl leads the Demons with 39 kills. Senior Jessie Buchholz tops the squad with 10 aces. Junior Megan Mitchell has assisted on 78 points, while junior Kylee Porter has had 55 digs.

Fairfield has rattled off five wins in a row since suffering a four-set loss last Tuesday versus the Fort Madison Bloodhounds (8-4 overall). Sophomore Kara Jeffrey has tallied a team-best 71 kills. Senior Kaylee Watson has posted a serve efficiency over 99 percent, making one error in 109 serves. Watson leads the team with 18 aces and 178 digs. Junior Ashtyn Drish has facilitated on 106 points.

First serve of tonight’s varsity match between Washington and Fairfield is set for 7 p.m. at Washington High School.
