Over 600 years of service to the Washington Community School District was applauded at Wednesday’s school board meeting. Staff members who retired at the end of the school year in June were presented gifts. Superintendent Jeff Dicks called each name of the 25 members and then the number of years they worked in the district. In total there were 626 years of experience in the district that retired. Steve Roth had been with the district the longest – 40 years.

At the end of the meeting, Dicks added they’re planning to have an open walk through of the auditorium for the community September 25th, before the grand opening event on October 9th.
