The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls basketball teams travel to Iowa City to take on their rival the Regina Regals tonight in a River Valley Conference doubleheader.

The Mid-Prairie girls enter today with a 10-3 record, winners of their last nine games in a row. The Golden Hawks are ranked No. 15 in class 3A in the latest poll from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. On Saturday the Golden Hawks beat No. 14 in class 2A Bellevue 60-47. The Golden Hawks were led by 16 points and 12 rebounds from Ireland Hostetler. On the season Mid-Prairie is led by Ali Butters at 13 points per game, ninth in the River Valley Conference. Addie Rath has the team lead and is second in the conference with 60 assists. Ireland Hostetler is fourth in the conference with 116 rebounds.

Iowa City Regina enters play ranked No. 1 in class 2A with a perfect 11-0 record. In their last game the Regals beat No. 10 Cascade 78-57. Mary Crompton led the way with 39 points. Crompton leads the River Valley Conference is fourth in class 2A at 20 points per game. Greyson Dumont leads the RVC and is sixth in class 2A with 63 assists, Alex Wiese leads the Regals and is fifth in the conference with 112 rebounds.

These two teams met on December 6th in Wellman with the Regals taking a 60-29 win.

The Mid-Prairie boys enter tonight with a 4-10 record on the year. On Saturday the Golden Hawks beat the Bellevue Comets 73-49 behind 15 points from Carter Reinier. On the season the Golden Hawks are led by Caleb Statler scoring 10 points per game. Statler also leads the RVC with 31 blocked shots. Brad Tornow leads the team and is fifth in the conference with 36 assists. Tom Butters leads the Hawks on the glass with 77 rebounds, sixth in the conference.

Iowa City Regina enters tonight with a 7-4 overall record. Regina fell to Cascade Saturday 59-44. The Regals were led by Jocoa Kershen with 14 points. On the season Regina is led by Kershen who is sixth in the conference at 14 points per game. Jake Phillips has the team lead and is third in the conference with 39 assists, Even Brauns is best on the team and eighth in the conference with 67 rebounds.

These two teams met on December 6th with the Regals taking a 66-33 win.
