The Southeast Conference bowling season continued Tuesday for the Washington Demons. The Demons made the trip to Arrowhead Lanes in Keokuk for a league showdown versus the Chiefs. Washington left Keokuk with a doubleheader split.
The boys’ match saw four of Washington’s five individual bowlers tally two-game scores above 300 to assist the Demons to victory, 2,754-2,640. Colin Zear posted the team’s high score, knocking down 494 pins in 20 frames. Kylan Gillette recorded a two-game score of 402. Bailey Curtis bowled an individual mark of 331, while Maclain Leyden added 328. Washington sunk 1,849 pins in the individual round and added another 905 in the baker rounds.
The Washington girls’ bowling team posted a score of 1,873, falling to the Keokuk Chiefs by 629 pins. Trista Kelly tallied the best mark for Washington, sinking 312 pins in two games. The Demons scored 1,326 points in round one, pouring in another 547 pins in the baker rounds.
The Washington Demon bowling teams are back in action today, traveling to Sigourney for a non-conference meet versus the Savages. First pins are set to drop at 3 p.m. at Keokuk Bowl.
