While water levels for the English River at Kalona and Iowa River near Lone Tree dropped from Wednesday to Thursday, they rose at Columbus Junction. A flood warning has been issued until Monday morning for the Iowa River at Columbus Junction. The Iowa River was at 19.6 feet, as of 6 a.m. Thursday. Flood stage there is 19 feet. Minor flooding is occurring and the river is expected to rise to 19.9 feet Friday morning, before falling below flood stage Monday. According to the National Weather Service, “ice action may produce additional river level fluctuations from the expected forecast over the next few days.” Listen to KCII for weather updates.
